Task Drafts
How to get back to a task you did not finish: what to choose when you leave the form, where drafts live, and how to continue from another device.
Task Drafts
A task rarely gets written in one sitting: someone interrupts you, a detail needs checking, or you start it on your phone on the way in and finish it at your desk. Everything you typed stays in a draft, so you can come back to the task whenever you like, from any of your devices.
How the draft keeps up with you
There is nothing to save by hand. The draft keeps up with you as you fill the task in, both when you create a new task and when you edit an existing one, and it holds everything you managed to enter: title, description, project, assignee, due date, tags, checklists, and attachments.
Press Back before the task is saved and the app asks what to do next:
- Minimize to tab suits a short interruption, when you will be back at the form on this device in a minute. Tabs and Screen Switching explains how that works.
- Save draft and leave closes the form, and the task waits for you under Drafts.
- Delete draft is for tasks you have changed your mind about: the text you typed disappears here and on your other devices.
Finding and continuing a draft
Open Menu → Drafts. The counter next to the menu item tells you at a glance how many unfinished tasks are waiting in this workspace. Each row shows what the task is about, when you last touched it, and how many attachments it carries. A Not synced badge means the draft has not made it to your other devices yet, which usually comes down to a lost connection.
Press a draft and the form opens exactly as you left it: same text, same attachments, same filled-in fields. Finish the task, save it, and the draft has done its job and disappears.
If you worked on the same task both on your phone and at your computer, the app will not guess which version is the right one and asks you which to keep.
Only you can see your drafts, and they stay in the workspace where you started the task. You can keep 20 of them at a time, and anything you have not come back to for a month is cleared away for you. Attachments sit with the draft the whole time.
Once the task is written and ready for the team, save it the usual way. What to put in each field is covered in Creating and Editing a Task.
